The Province of Huamanga looks forward to welcome
some 25,000 visitors who will attend the recreation of the battle of Ayacucho, which will be staged next Wednesday (Dec. 9th) at the Pampa de la Quinua, informed Pablo Carreño Miranda, one of the organizers of the event.
The Battle of Ayacucho is considered to be the historical event that sealed Peru and America's independence from the Spanish crown on December 9, 1824.
Carreño informed that close to 1,200 actors will take part in the recreation, which is performed every two years.
Carreño Miranda pointed out that the play honoring the 185th anniversary of the battle of Ayacucho will last three and a half hours and will begin at 9:00 a.m.
