FIFA World Cup arrived to Lima in a private airplane from Argentine, as part of the 225 day-worldwide tour along 83 countries before arriving to South Africa next June.
Peruvian Institute of Sports Chief, Arturo Woodman, was in charge of the welcome ceremony of the trophy at Jorge Chavez Airport, along former Peruvian soccer players Percy Rojas and Julio Cesar Uribe.
The FIFA Cup will be taken in the afternoon to the Government Palace, where President Alan Garcia will welcome the trophy.
According to the tour rules, Garcia Perez is the only Peruvian citizen to touch the FIFA Cup, as President of Peru.
Somali singer K'naan sang Waving Flag, the official song of World Soccer Cup South Africa 2010, at Monumental Stadium, right before Beyonce's concert in Lima, which started 1 hour later than expected.
The trophy will be exibited at Parque de la Exposicion on Thursday, where ten thousand soccer fans are expected to attend.
