Celso Sialer Távara, Director of the Naylamp Conservation project, confirmed that the French government has spent S/. 960,000 (some US $320,000) in the archaeological site called “La Balsa” in Túcume, located near Chiclayo, in Lambayeque region.
The official explained that three public institutions took part in these works.
He also said that La Balsa was built by women thousands of years ago.
Sialer emphasized that all these tourism destinations will have additional surveillance during the Easter Holidays, to ensure the security of visitors.
