A 4.9 Richter scale earthquake jolted this afternoon the north region of Tumbes region, located in the north coast of Peru, reports the Geophysics Institute of Peru.
The earthquake took place at 1:55pm local time, and at present no personal nor material damages have been reported, according to local authorities.
The epicenter was located at 20 km to the southwest of Zorritos, at 31km depth.
The intensity was measured as level III in the Modified Mercalli Scale.
