According to the JNE (National Elections Council) it is possible that by tomorrow the result of who will accompany Ollanta Humala into the second round will be known. This announcement was made after the election judges finished revising the more than 8,000 observed voting acts. All that remains is for the ONPE (National Office for Election Processing) to finish tallying the results of these 8,000 acts.
With nearly 98% of the vote counted Ollanta Humala continues to lead with 3,702,503 votes (30.74%) followed by Alan García with 2,930,766 (24.33%). Lourdes Flores remains in third place with 2,847,612. García remains the most likely candidate to join Humala in the runoff as he continues to lead Flores by 83,000 votes.
