In a friendly football match between the leaders of the EU and Latin America it was Peru’s President Alejandro Toledo who was the player of the match. In a game that ended in a 7-7 draw Toledo scored two goals and wowed the crowd with a high level of football ability.
Toledo was supported by a vocal group of Peruvians, including congressman and other government advisors. At the end of the match Toledo was given a standing ovation by his supporters.
