Peru's Astronomy Day celebration will take place tomorrow, Saturday April 21st, at Parque Central of Miraflores (Kennedy Park), from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
This year's celebration will be held by a number of astronomy amateur groups, clubs and scientific institutions.
Entrance is free and the event will feature:
* Telescopes and equipment displays
* Moon, Sun and planet observations.
* Lectures.
* Photos and graphics displays
* Telescope making exhibition
* Telescope repair workshop
* Telescope mirror making display
* Printed information distribution: boolklets and handouts.
* Portable planetarium access
* Information about astronomy lessons, observation trips, clubs membership, etc.
* Birthday stars lists.
* Astronomical art contest
* Planets coloring activities for kids
* Sky-Q-Quiz
* Southern hemisphere sky maps
Everybody is welcome.
Volunteers (especially English speakers) are needed to help assist the public.
