The building, which was Humala’s presidential campaign headquarters last year, is now the officla headquarters for Humala’s Peruvian Nationalist Party (Partido Nacionalista Peruano).
According to the building’s owners, notices to evict the premises were sent out to Humala after the rental contract expired last February.
"He has not taken the notifications seriously. His contract has expired and it’s time for him to give me the keys," declared the building’s co-owner Juan Palomino, who arrived at the location to demand Humala’s eviction.
The former military captain has not released any statements to the press regarding the incident.
