Peru: U.S. INS - Immigration Officials Much Stricter on Undocumented Immigrants

(LIP-ir) -- If Peruvian citizens living in the U.S. are afraid of being deported, they shouldn't open their front door.

This was the warning and suggestion made by Peruvian Immigration lawyer, Vital del Carpio, to all undocumented Peruvians living in the U.S.

According to the immigration lawyer, the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) has changed its method of locating undocumented immigrants.

It was reported that INS officials are visiting homes in search of a specific person, if this person is not home, INS officials then proceed to ask everyone present for legal documentation.

All those that do not have valid and legal documents are detained. "Before they didn't do that, they only went for the person they were looking for..." recalled del Carpio.

The immigration lawyer, a native of Peru, explained that undocumented immigrants in the U.S. did not have the right to a free lawyer and therefore had to provide there own.

Del Carpio suggested that if an undocumented Peruvian is caught in the U.S., he/she should not sign anything. They should ask to speak to a judge and if they have any immediate family that is a U.S. citizen - father, mother, spouse or children - they can request temporary protection, which would allow them to fight their case for up to 10 years.

Since all of you enthusiastically and whole heartedly support illegal immigration, I would like to know what you think about this problem. What solution can you provide these people now. None. You can't help them and they can't help themselves. The consequences of their actions have caught up with them.

What a shame that they can't even open their front door. Is that a way of life. Is that the American Dream they were looking for. What did you think the U.S. was going to do. Roll over and act like the illegal immigrants weren't there.

Keep encouraging illegal immigration. Keep telling people its ok to break the law. Good luck in life.

If you are new to the forum take the time to read the previous posts before you rush into making comments.

WELL, I THINK MR.  VITAL DEL CARPIO WANTS MORE CLIENTS, OR “MONEY” BECAUSE ALL OF US KNOW THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE ALL LATIN IMMIGRANTS TO THEIR COUNTRIES. WHEN I WAS IN THE USA, I WAS ABLE TO SEE HOW ENTIRE FAMILIES WERE LIVING IN THE USA WITHOUT ANY DOCUMENT AT ALL, AND THE AUTHORITIES COULD NOT HELP IT. THE  SITUATION IS GETTING WORSE BUT IT IS UP TO THE AMERICAN GOVERNMENT TO END THIS, UNFORTUNATELY NOTHING CAN BE DONE AS LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES ARE GETTING POORER. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE NOTHING CAN BE DONE ONCE A PERUVIAN STEP AMERICAN GROUND, AND LAWYERS KNOW IT,  THAT IS THE REASON WHY SO MANY LAWYER A GETTING RICH DUE TO THE SUFFERING OF PEOPLE.  MR.  VITAL DEL CARPIO WANTS ALL UNSUSPECTING ILLEGAL PEOPLE BE IN PANIC TO TURN TO HIM FOR PROTECTION. SO HE CAN OBTAIN LOT OF GREEN BILLS FROM THESE POOR PEOPLE.THAT IS A SHAME PEOPLE LIKE HIM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE MISFORTUNE OF THEIR OWN PEOPLE.

Julio,

I am sorry you are so desperate that you have to make up lies about people.  Only half of what you said is true (does that make you a half witt?)  I have repeated states my opposition to continuing illegal immigration, I am just not so stupid and shallow to think it is black and white. I have seen it with my own eyes, I have studied how the American economy will falter if we suddenly rid ourselves of all the illegal immigrants, I have seen the children's eyes when they do not have enough to eat, and I have seen American's continue to provide opportunity and never face any serious consequences.

Your view is shallow and nieve at best and heartless at worst.  As Americans, we have allowed these people here, used their labor to fill our breadbaskets and build our houses and dig our ditches and clean our offices and wash our clothes and then we spit on them and tell them to go home.

And you refuse to acknowledge any of that, just make general shallow statements.

You are shameful, plain and simple, and will say anything, your belief is a faith to you, no facts needed, just blind faith..that is great for God, but falls way short in dealing with humanity.

I do not have problems with laws against illegal immigration, I just wish my government would pull their head out of the bellybutton and see what is needed.  Open worker visas, find some way besides racists or walls to protect our border from terrorist infiltration, hold corporations and profiteers accountable for creating opportunities..

I realize you have absolutely no problem watching a child cry hisself to sleep with hunger and are quick to spit on the parent willing to break a law to feed him, and yet have little or nothing to say about the multi-millionaire WalMart exec who made another hundred thousand dollars by locking illegal immigrants in bulding and forcing them to work for free and geting off with little more than a small fine.

I can see where your priorities are, dishonesty, lack of compassion, and xenophobia.

Good luck with that, personally my soul would not allow me to live that sort of life.

# Julio Caceres says :

That's convenient Americorps, you have no position. Like you say, you are just regurgitating facts. You haven't taken a position on the issue. When it comes down to it it is black and white. As you can see it has come to that. Whether the U.S. took advantage of the people or not doesn't matter to them.

The U.S. took advantage of people that were willing to be taken advantage of. The U.S. committed moral crimes while the immigrants committed legal ones. Unfortunately the U.S. won't be punished on the moral crimes. The immigrants are paying the price though.

If we go to the root of the problem who caused the whole mess.

You are not in favor of illegal immigration yet you understand how parents can leave their country to feed their children. How compassionate of you. That doesn't make you understanding, it makes you unwilling to take a stance on the issue.

You seemed to have analyzed that the economy will falter if the immigrants leave, but the U.S. government doesn't seem to be worrying about that. The country may be shaken if they all leave at once, that's true but if they get rid of them slowly (like they're doing) while letting others in legally then they'll be fine.

The U.S. is letting them know they don't need them as much as some believe. (like you)

Bottom line is that the illegal immigrants will get the short end of the stick. Why, because they are the ones that broke the law. The WalMart exec is wrong and the parent that breaks the law in wrong. Both are inexcusable.

The problem wasn't as severe before, now the U.S. is getting stricter on companies and enforcing the necessary laws. (as we can see)

My soul wouldn't allow me to live with my head in my bellybutton and with no opinion or position in life.

Ohhhh wait I understand what you are saying:

1. You oppose illegal immigration
2. You agree (understand) people have to illegally immigrate (Don't say you don't agree because you already told me about the poor mom

hmmmmmmm

Don't even bother to reply americorp he's being synical....if you reply it would be like "throwing pearls to the swines"  it's hard to reason with such a callous mentality & your reasonings were logical you did a lot of good research & obviously had enough experience to back it up & you obviously show a caring quality which is very rare in this world today.

Someone once showed me & I truly believe it, what the scriptures say in 2 Timothy 3:1-6

"But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here....for men will be lovers of themselves...self assuming, haughty....having no natural affection, not opened to any agreement...without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up with pride...."

So true!!

Wow, I was trying to couch it before, but now I see you need things spelled out more clearly.

You are a cheap pathetic liar.

Clear enough?

Lie 1, I have no position...We need to deal realistically not xenophobically with the illegal immigrants we have now, realistaclly look at the need for workers and design an immigration system that actually meets our needs and not xenophobic politcal agendas.

Lie 2, the US committed only a moral crime.  American committed a moral crime, yes, but the penalties are slight compared to the gain.  companies like Wal-Mart factor in fines when deciding if it is proffitable to abuse people, and I am stunned you have the blame the victem mentality...it is the same as blaming a woman for dressing to sexy if she is rapped.  Further, the lobby has purchased congress to continue to be lineant on big corporations breaking the law.

Lie 3, your blindness to poverty and parental response, Understanding a motive for a crime is not condoning a crime, so to say that is just another bunch of malarky fully proving the truth has no impact on you, making you worthless in a legitimate discussion.  I NEVER said it justifies a crime, I said I understand the motive...I think you are in some serious need of education to make such fantastic and wild leaps from one point to another..earth to Julio, come in...

Lie 4, the US does not seem to be worried about the economy....Get a clue little one, why do you think Bush has pushed opportunity for the illegals to stay, have you read the literally hundreds of news stories about communities that have pushed illegal immigrants out and suddenly found their local businesses faltering?  Have you actually looked at anty GAO reports about this issue?  No, I thought not because once again, facts get in your way, no room for them in your world.

and of course this was just your last post,,,if I have to list all your lies, the message board would be a mile long.

You are nothing, end of story, buh bye

Job 8:3-4

Doth God pervert a judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice?
If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;

Jeremiah 32:23

And they came in, and possessed it; but they obeyed not thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou commandedst them to do: therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them:

Isaiah 26:21

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her a blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Jeremiah 21:14

But I will punish you according to the fruit of your doings, saith the LORD: and I will kindle a fire in the forest thereof, and it shall devour all things round about it.

You have done an excellent "analysis" of the case yet it does not help all of the illegal immigrants getting picked up at their jobs and even their homes.

My point is to help those considereing the posibility of illegally immigrating to reconsider it. The immigants that are already over there... well we can see what's happening.

As for you dear lady, the government is to blame for everything and it's the governments fault. The government has to solve it and you can just sit back and "analyze and criticize."

You're a great coach, thanks for spelling it out.

Here is a very good example about the immigration issue that America faces. This video addresses immigration in general, & not just illegal immigration. Although illegal immigration is the bulk of the issue. The speaker in this video, Mr. Roy Beck, has testified before the US Senate on immigration reform as a leading authority on this subjest.

I have seen this video as well as many of my friends. Mr. Beck has been labeled a rascist by pro illegal immigration groups such as La Raza. Mr. Beck has only stated fact in regards to the past and present, and where immigration as a whole is leading. It is there for everyone to see with their own two eyes for crying out loud! It is so stupid for people to throw the race card on the table; especialy when you see the mix of people that is present in his audiance. Not too mention the fact that this so called rascist was called too testify before the Senate as Juan pointed out.

# Carlos Bagati says :
5 September, 2007 [ 16:09 ]

It is not just an American issue, it is an issue for any country that is facing immigration problems. It is a very good eye opening video. As Mr. Beck stated, it should be the responsibility of the country of origin to fix their own internal problems. Countries like Mexico know this. But they are more in tune with bringing down America because of all the multitudes of free stuff. I may cause some of my American friends to become angry with me, but Socialism is already rampant in America. I use the term Free Stuff loosely. There is no such thing as free.

Here is a link to the Southern Poverty Law Center, lead by former President,Jimmy Carter.  It is one of the world's most respected and well known non profits.

While I agree with our resident idiot that National Council of La Raza is a bad and racist organization, the SPLC is not, they are very objective and, like me (and unlike the resident evil) hold values, not opinions.  They are just as critical of racists as they are of counter racists and they are just as critical to racism on the right and racism on the left.

Here they document the known racist groups and organizations tied with Beck and his friends.

Julio and Danny may be quite comfortable hanging out with Nazis and Klansmen, but for me, i consider thost groups terrorists and sub-human and undeserving of participating in a free society.  Julio considers them a credible source to prove his point.

It speaks volumes about Julio.

You have driven yourself too an all time low by giving creedence too anything they preach. It wasn't until the last few years that the Southern Poverty Law Center finally posted information about other hate groups; primarily black millitant groups. This after being dis-credited because of their need for federal tax dollars in order too survive. What is thier phrase in regards to these black millitant groups? "We know that you have been mis-treated, but we do not accept nor condone hate," Took them long enough too finally say something don't you think? Evil? Nobody here has said that they support illegal immigration!
We are suggesting that the issue be dealt with in a realistic,
compassionate and reasonable manner.  Your message and
solution appears to be to round up the 12 million at gunpoint and ship them back immediately.  Am I wrong, Sr. Caceres?

What I am tired of, are all the one-liners, slogans and shallow comments.  We almost had meaningful immigration
reform a few months ago in the U.S. but the 20% of the U.S. population who are anti-latin bigots (i.e. Republican Conservatives), derailed it.  Even Bush wanted reform.  Imagine that!  His party blocked it coz they thrive on hate.
