This report should be investigated completely in order to determine the source of the fallen object as well as the cause of the illness that it has caused.
Should this be an object from the solar system, then there is the potential for a non-treatable interplanetary virus as well as for another similar object to fall.
Should this be man/woman made, then the concern is how and why did this happen?

The first thing I thought was a interstellar virus. Hope that's not the case

Intersteller virus makes good science fiction, but none have been discovered so far. It's far more likely hydrogen sulphides and other products of subsoil decay were vaporised and released, possibly combined with heavy metal (nickel) vapors from the meteorite.) If the meteorite is a chondrite, the vapors could even be carbon monoxide. Is there any wind there or would heavy vapors such as CO2 and CO stay in the hole? Stay upwind and keep your distance until the cause is discovered, but my bet is on something more mundane and less scary than radiation or an intersteller virus.Add your comment
