(LIP-ir) -- Peru's RPP news reported today that after an extensive investigation, the Municipality of Lince had chosen the district's safest internet cafe for children and adolescents.
The internet cafe known as "El Rey" was chosen out of 37 internet establishments as the safest in Lince, Lima, Peru because of its modern software which keeps minors from viewing pornography and violent websites.
In recognition of the establishment, the Mayor of Lince, Martín Príncipe Laines gave a certificate of recognition to Carmen Uriarte Flores, the owner of the internet cafe located on the fifth block of Pardo de Zela Avenue.
The internet cafe was recognized as the safest place for Lince's children and teens to go online because of its modern and innovative software which prevents its young users from accessing inappropriate websites and material on the world wide web.
The mayor of Lince stated that the contest had been held to identify those that were putting the internet to good use and therefore turning it into a powerful tool for the intellectual development of boys, girls and adolescents.
In addition, the mayor affirmed that children and teens, who were still developing, were exposed to many dangers when they logged onto the Internet.
