(LIP-ir) -- On February 20, more than ten thousand fans will pack the National Stadium in Lima to enjoy a concert given by the legendary British rock band, Deep Purple.

Ian Gillan (vocals), Ian Paice (drums), Roger Glover (bass), Don Airey (keyboard) and Steve Morse (guitar) will delight the fans of this mythic rock band.

With 18 albums released, Deep Purple has confirmed its visit to Peru promoted by the show producer Lahersa, who also organized Toto’s concert last month in Lima.

According to rock experts, Deep Purple is the band that evolved the progressive rock style to hard rock and established the basis for heavy metal.

One of its most renowned albums is “In Rock” (1970), which includes great songs like "Child in time", "Speed King" and the single "Black Night".

Among others is “Fireball” (1971) and one of the band's most memorable hits “Machine Head” (1972), which includes "Lazy" and the greatest hits "Highway Star" and “Smoke on the Water”.

Deep Purple's latest album, “Rapture of the Deep” (2005) demonstrated their latest work can be just as good as their best from 30+ years ago. It mixes 70’s music with future tendencies very similar to its previous album, “Bananas” (2003), which ranked third in sales in Germany.
