Keiko Fujimori Prepares Political Party for 2011 Elections in Peru

(LIP-ir) -- Alberto Fujimori and those taking part in the 1990 elections made their appearance in Peru's politics in 1989 under the name "Cambio 90" while in 2000 the political party managed its campaign under the name "Peru 2000".

It was recently announced that the group of politicians that will take part in Peru's 2011 elections will run under the name "Fuerza 2011".

"For seven years, some of the media and several political sectors have already sentenced Alberto Fujimori. It is important for us to show how much people support him and we will do it with democratic weapons," said congresswoman Keiko Fujimori, Alberto Fujimori's daughter.

The congresswoman announced she would be responsible for collecting the one million signatures necessary to register the group in Peru's National Jury of Elections (JNE).

"We are going to collect one million signatures throughout the next year and prove that people do not agree with the lynching of Alberto Fujimori that is taking place," affirmed Keiko.

She clarified she would not be running for president in the "Fuerza 2011" campaign and said that she would be out of Peru for the next few months to continue studies.

She could be the next Peruvian president. She s young, has experience, studies, her husband is American, very democratic, intelligent, charisma, Fujimori's daughter, She  can link investment from the Asia Pacific Rim and the USA.

I agree with Carl.
Other qualities that could help her are;
She is a moral-less liar, she is well connected to her fathers mafia, she has access to the tonnes of money her father funneled out of Peru, and she convinces idiots that she's democratic and loves Peru.

What you have said is not true, is she connected with  mafia? has she funneled out tons of money?
But you agree with me, she could be the next president!!!

I am a cynnical Peruvian-born living outside Peru for many years. If I didn't care about Peru, I'd say "don't vote for Keiko."

But, for those of you who care about Peru, if you really do want progress...Vote for Keiko.

Humala, Toledo and Alan...All idiots incaple of nothing.

Exactly how is voting for a legacy of killing innocent people a vote for Peru?

I think Peru is better than that.

I wonder how many lives were save compared to how many more would of died by not stabilizing the country and modernizing the economy. I guess we will never know.

I guess im compeled to clarify my  position.  I family will not vote for fuerza 2011 . But being that we were actully here pre- Fuji and remember what it was like. (if you were not actually living here or to young to remember, you could never fully understand) My family and I will always respect Alberto and what he had to do in our moment of chaos but the party for him is over and it is time to move on...

# mericorps says :

well, if what he did was ok with you, no problem..but in the name of justice, it should have been an innocent member of your family brutally murdered by the death squad..but since it wasn't then I can see why you are not to worried about it.

your beautiful.

Keiko Fujimori shouldn't be allowed to run for President of Peru, until her father Alberto explains how did he get more than $300,000 dollars he spent on paying for Keiko's and her sibilings education in expensive US colleges.

Alberto Fujimori created a network of corruption in Peru involving the government and the military. His crimes against human rights, freedom of speech, promoting corruption in all levels of Peruvian society, his corrupted sales of public profitable companies to foreign corporations, and so many other crimes are not to be forgotten by Peruvians easily.

Fujimori didn't end terrorism in Peru, but Peruvian intelligence, military and polices forces did so with the help of US intelligence.

Honestly, I prefer for Ollanta Humala to be elected as President or any other candidate who is willing to promote a truly radical transformation of Peru's government and state. It is about time.

Radical change of a ship heading kind of in the right direction is not a good idea Carlos.
The fact is, whether it be Humala, Garcia, Fujimori or Toledo, these people have no interesting in Peru whatsoever. Each presidency was self-serving. Each of this people lied about what they would change and idiots buy these lies time and time again, just as idiots think Humala will bring radical change or improve the country. He will not. He will improve his bank balance and his ego.

# carl says :

hey 300,000 dollars is not so much for being Peru`s president. He could have paid with its job. Besides, who does not value a good education, Fujimori used to be a teacher, the former Dean of the Universidad Agraria by the way a good state university.
By the way Keiko said, she will go Cambridge U, to make her master in Business Adm and very honest to say she did get entrance at first coz was very difficult at the second time she did.
Fujimori saved Peru, nobody wanted to invest in Peru, rich people were selling their properties at a bargain prices, to live maybe in Miami, or putting money in US banks. Others who were not so rich went to Japan or any other place to work as employee, the idea was to move quickly from Peru, coz was a dangerous place to live. As pragmatic person like Fujimori is, he did it from scratch.
Fujimori, Toledo and Garcia (second time) regardless their differences, has been followed the same economic rules.
Humala is like Velasco, Chavez and Evo Morales; USA enemies, they want division of Latinamerica , and I do not want to go back.
Right now is a paradox but Chile is our main partner. Thanks Chile to believe in us. We are going in the same way.

I have to agree with Carl but Carlos Quiroz is so off base it's not even funny. But I think he probably represents a good majority of resentful peruvians that obviously did not have the means to study abroad. It bothers the heck out me when people think they have the right to ask for explanations as to how a president of a country makes enough money to send their kids abroad to get a good education. He was democratically elected by the people of Peru, Mr. Alberto Fujimori is an accomplished and successful individual that unfortunately did not have the common sense to pick a good honest right hnd man and picked Montecinos instead. I seriously doubt there were many choices at the time.

The time has come to prove Peruvians that Montecinos acts of violence and atrocities will stop with Montecinos. Justice will prevail. And the story of a son of Japanese immigrants living in Peru will be heard all over the world and I hope it's used as an example on how to fight terrorism and communism.

She has so many qualities. A mother, educated, well mannered, and well seen around the world. As we did Alan Garcia we can all learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately I don't trust Alan because of the prior government and because he is surrounded by not too honest people.
Peruvian born, japanese heritage, and american education (masters level), she has the best of three worlds.
Despite all the errors his father made, I think it is because of him that the terrorism was destroyed. I cannot imagine going through that again.
If Araoz doesn't go for President I will vote for her.

And let's not forget, daughter of a corrupt murdering family.  That should get her a lot of votes..from people who like to destroy Peru.

Your blind belief that it is ok that Fujimori had innocent people murdered since he also destroyed shining path is simply unPeruvian.  Peru is better than that, and better than you.  I would like you to go to the mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, spouses, children, friends and families of those who had their INNOCENT loved-ones killed and tell them that their loss is not important because he ALSO dismantled Shining Path.

What would be better if there were some way for you to trade one of your family members for theirs since you think it is an acceptable thing.

Fuerza Peru! We can overcome poverty, inflation and terrorism, once again. I never voted for Fujimori in the 90's, but would vote for him now.
I thank El Chino for all the great work he did improving our economy and saving thousands and thousands of lives from terrorism.
Fujimori is being falsely accused for the Cantuta crimes. He is NOT guilty.
Fujimori is the best president that Peru has ever had in the last century! Go Keiko go!
The poorest peoples of Peru need Fujimori. No one else remembers those beggers, thiefs, hungry children in the streets, those poor souls hungry in the stomach, angry in their hearts-all of them Peruvians, mis compatriotas.

Keiko has good chances this time.

Well, we have to agree to disagree with mericorps. I had to live through the bombs in Tarata, and constant fear due to the MRTA that unfortunately Alan or prior Presidents could not control. Is it justifiable to kill others? definitely not. But it is too easy to be on the other side, safe. I want to see you as President and take those kind of decisions. Thanks to Fujimori we can now walk freely without fear.
It is so easy to criticize and not to bring solutions to a table. Yes, at that time everybody wanted peace... who brought it? Fujimori.
You judge Fujimori, but who judges MRTA? it seems that they got a free card... how easy we forget how many people they killed. Don't you think those family members are pro-Fujimori now?. It is always good to see both sides of the story.

# Miguel says :

It is easy for us to judge the man Fujimori as the epitomy of corruption and evil . But he had incredibly difficult decisions to make, and not only that but work through a web of corruption entranched so deeply in Peru that I find it a success for him to have been able to get rid of the terrorist threat in such efficient manner. His hands had to get dirty, he had to deal with the shit of the world, the videos that have surfaced only showed how easy it was to bride anyone for anything, terrorist causes or any cause when and if the price was right. It is easy now to point to his inevitable corruption, Fujimori is no saint, he is perhaps a monster; but only a man of such fortitude could do what he had done. He is no longer needed now that things are stable; he should be let go banned, exiled; but not thrown to rot behind bars. Sometimes in doing what's necessary " You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain'.
