Peru's police acquire 1,000 new patrol vehicles to fight crime

(LIP-ir) -- Peru's President Alan Garcia announced today that the country's national police would have 1,000 new patrol vehicles to reinforce citizen safety.

Garcia affirmed the Andean country's national police had the government's full support in fighting crime.

"The law gives the police the power to act severely and energetically. The law defends the police officer that may use his firearm to repel the attack of an armed criminal. No officer needs to fear because the law, the Constitution, the government and the President of the Republic support him", said Garcia.

Peru's Head of State made these statements while at a ceremony in which Peru officially received a donation of 100 patrol vehicles from South Korea.

He explained that the vehicles would be given to state security agencies and emergency teams.

With the help of the United Nations Development Program, the bidding process for the purchase of another 900 patrol vehicles recently ended.

Garcia affirmed that these vehicles would soon be on the country's streets to fight crime.

He added that the country's national police would also have new uniforms by June, stating that the government was dedicated to providing better work conditions for Peru's police.

"No officer needs to fear because the law, the Constitution, the government and the President of the Republic support him..."

Is Alan Garcia afraid that he will be brought to justice for his crimes against human rights and corruption? There are pending cases that can get him to jail anytime in the near future.

Similar charges can be brought against most of the Government, and Governments of other nations. However, the justice systems of the world serve the rich and the powerful, not justice.

Police can now use their guns that nice! and they will get new uniformes in June.
But it says here that the 1000 new cars will go to state security agencies and emergency teams. What does that mean?

Carlos correct me if I am wrong, but is not the statue of limitations for Peru ten years? Other than a murder charge & terrorism? Alan was on the lame in frog land for about that same amount of time. Ten years; while counting the money he brought with him from Peru.
