Peru: Fans in Lima ready for Deep Purple concert tonight

(LIP-ir) -- Over 10,000 people in Lima are anxiously waiting for the Deep Purple concert, which is to be held tonight at the National Stadium.

After eleven years, the members of the English hard rock band will play in Peru once again and let thousands of Peruvian fans know why they are considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock.

Once listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's loudest band, Deep Purple has come to Peru to "explode with energy", said Ian Gillan in an interview with an El Comercio reporter.

Although the band's original lineup has seen many changes, Gillan assures Deep Purple is a strong as ever and will give Peru a spectacular show.

He explained that the concert would consist of four types of songs. Deep Purple's most popular songs from the 70s and 80s as well as song that were never heard on the radio.

The band will then play new material after which it will top the show off with "lots of improvising that will take us to places that we can't even predict", said Gillan.

The band arrived to Lima on Monday from Mexico and took part in a press conference on Tuesday. They are to stay at the Marriott hotel until February 21.

Peru is the first country on the band's South American tour.

since I've to gonna make me feel so bad,

Hush, Hush,
I thought I heard her calling my name now.
Hush, Hush, she broke my heart, but I love her just the same now.
Hush Hush-------
