Korean cooperation in Peru to increase 28.6% to over US$ 9 million this year

Korea would increase cooperation with Peru by 28.6 percent totaling over nine million dollars this year, the sub director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Peru Shin Man Shik said today. He recalled that in 2007 the Korean cooperation in Peru reached seven million dollars, five million in 2006 and 3.5 million in 2005. “50 percent of this year's total amount will be addressed to health projects, while the other half to boost educational and human development projects as well as Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)”, he stated to Andina news agency. IDB approves over US$ 350 million loan to Peru to finance sanitation projects

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved over 350 million dollars to Peru to support the provision and upgrading of sustainable water and sanitation services to benefit low-income populations in the next five years. The head of IDB Division of Water and Sanitation Federico Basañes said that over 100 thousand families will benefit from potable water and sewerage services through programs executed by the Peruvian government.
