
The Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa appears in the world's top 100 public intellectuals list, which is a ranking organized by the famous American magazine Foreign Policy.
Vargas Llosa was recognized by Foreign Policy as an “author and prolific novelist“ and as one of the “giants of the contemporary Latin American literature”.
In the May/June edition, the magazine shows the relation of the distinguished notables who are able to receive the readers’ votes through internet in order to compete for integrating the top 20 public intellectual list. The final results will be published in the July/August edition.
In the list of the fourth most recognized Latin Americans are the ex president of Brazil, Fernando Enrique Cardoso, the Mexican journalist, Alma Guillermoprieto, the Mexican historian, Enrique Krauzeu, and the Peruvian Vargas Llosa.
