(LIP-do) -- Peruvian Chancellor José Antonio García Belaunde stated today that Peru doesn't share the same opinions of President of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, who sustained that Colombia pretends to promote a supposed war to justify an intervention in the United States.
He said that it was an impossible action as "we live in a time where free-will among countries exists as to whether or not they want to intensify their military. We don't share his idea that Colombia is looking for a continental war," the Chancellor declared to CPN radio.
Keeping this in mind, he expressed trust that the V European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean (EU-LAC) Summit, which will start tomorrow in Lima, will solve the diplomatic crisis between Colombia and Ecuador.
With this announcement, the Chancellor also confirmed the participation of Bolivian President Evo Morales and Fernando Lugo, President-elect of Paraguay in the summit.
