1200 emergencies were attended by Peru’s firefighters during EU-LAC

(LIP-do) -- Peru’s Voluntary Fire Department (CGBVP) covered more than one thousand 200 emergencies in all the Peruvian territory, from Thursday to Sunday, during EU-LAC summit, even there were no eventualities with the foreign delegations. According to a report of the CGBVP around 300 emergencies were attended, 80 percent of them corresponded to medical emergencies, including cardio-respiratory problems, runs over and vehicular crashes.
Yesterday Sunday 18th, for example the voluntary firefighters treaded 229 emergencies until 21:30 hours, mainly medical emergencies, as well as small fires and five incidents with dangerous materials at different points of Lima Metropolitana. Last night also ended, with the departure of the last foreign delegation at Jorge Chávez airport, the operative deployment of security that the firefighters carried out during the Latin America, Caribbean and European Union (EU-LAC) Summit. Due to this summit more than 5500 firefighters were located at strategic points of Lima city, specialists on incidents with dangerous material, rescues at collapsed structures, vehicular accidents, fires, among others.
Peru’s National Museum could be venue for APEC preparatory meetings
The preliminary and preparatory meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) which will be held in November in Lima may be carried out at the National Museum due to its big and comfortable rooms, announced today ambassador Hernán Couturier. Couturier, who was the general coordinator of the V European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean Summit (EU-LAC), stated that the Government is thinking in this possibility due to the success of the above mentioned international forum.
