COFIDE, the corporation that launched the
Mi Taxi program in Lima, announced today that it would finance the purchase of 180 natural gas buses this year. "We hope that all of Lima's public transportation companies will opt for using a cheaper fuel that pollutes less," said the Minister of Energy and Mines Juan Valdivia. COFIDE representatives stated the corporation had already provided a company with 10 natural gas buses, valued over 2.6 million soles. It was reported that the company had purchased the vehicles with an 8 percent down payment.
