Libertador Peru Hotel Chain said Thursday it plans a soft opening of its 30 million dollar Urubamba Luxury Collection hotel, located in the Inca Sacred Valley, on March 1, 2009, as part of a franchise agreement with US hotel chain Starwood Hotels & Worldwide Resorts.
This agreement represents a total investment of 160 million dollars, which icludes the remodelation of the Libertador Cusco Hotel, located in the capital of this department, and the construction of other two hotels in Urubamba (Cusco) and San Isidro (Lima).
According to the Libertador Hotel commercial manager, Dietrich Bauer von Der Wense, the project is currently in the construction stage which includes new public areas inside the hotel.
“This hotel will have 128 rooms and more than 1,400 m2 for corporate meetings and other activities”, he told Andina news agency.
He said the soft opening will take two or three months, depending on demand, but the official opening can take place in July 2009.
This 30 million dollar project tackles luxury tourists, who can spend 350 dollars daily.
Starwood Hotels & Worldwide Resorts owns and manages hotel and resort franchises such as Saint Regis, Luxury Collection, Westin, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft and Element.
