"Visa had recently launched a payment system using cellular phones in the Andean country."
Does anyone have any information on this new system by Visa?!? This is the first I've heard of it.

Does anyone know how much of Peru (%) is covered by cellular networks? Are there areas where only satellite phone service are an option? Has anyone had experience with satellite phones in Peru?
Thanks,
John.

I know that most of the road from Nazca to Arequipa has no cell coverage. Only a few spots in small cities. Also the road from Arequipa to Matarani has no coverage.Add your comment
Colca Canyon only has Claro, no Telefonica cell coverage.
