Peruvian travel agencies won in four out of the 10 categories nominated in the 2008 Latin American Travel Association Awards. LATA, a UK-based trade organization attracting tourism to Latin America, recognized PromPeru, Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica, Aqua Expeditions and Orient Express for their achievements in Peruvian tourism. The awards ceremony was held at the World Travel Market in London, the largest tourism convention in the world.

PromPeru was awarded Best Tourism Agency of the Year, Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica won Best Jungle Lodge in all of Latin America, Aqua Expeditions for Best Luxury Cruise and Orient Express with Best Hotel Chain.

The awards marked a high-profiled event for the four agencies, making their names recognized by other tourism companies from around the world. María del Carmen De Reparaz, who accepted the award on behalf of PromPeru, hopes the ceremony will invest more interests from English tourists and other travel agencies to do business with Peru in the future.

Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica has been running for more than 30 years and is a pioneer in jungle exploration located in the areas of Madre de Dios and Reserva Nacional de Tambopata. Aqua Expeditions is a luxury cruise exploring the rivers of the jungle vast Amazon jungle. Orient Express provides luxury hotels, trains and cruises throughout the world. Their hotels in Peru are located in Miraflores, Machu Picchu, Cusco and Colca Canyon.
