Peru the best country in the world managing fishery resources

Andina

Peru was chosen as the best country in the world in managing its fisheries resources, on top of Chile, Germany and United States, according to the latest study carried out by the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada.

Peru’s congressman Isaac Mekler reported on this and said that the study was conducted by prestigious researchers who evaluated 53 countries in the world comparing the management of its biodiversity.

The study came to the conclusion that Peru is the country with greatest eteffectiveness and efficiency on progress of the management of its fisheries resources such as the aquaculture.

Mekler, former chairman of the Production and SME Commission, said this world recognition is due to the joint work among the Legislative branch, the Production Ministry, headed now by Elena Conterno, responsible companies and fishermen.

Very well done! But I think we can all agree that there is plenty more to be done. Peru is blessed with astounding diversity and needs to find the balance between development and conservation. Hey, who doesn't.
Were there any specific technologies or methods that other countries were NOT using? Great job Peru.
