The Second Edition of the International Peruvian Cajón Festival (sponsored by the Spanish Cultural Centre and promoted by renowned musician Rafael Santa Cruz) has started last Saturday in Peru's capital.
It was a good start: a big "
cajoneada" which broke a Guinness record,
gathering 1,050 cajón players performing altogether.
The singular performance was videotaped and photographed, in order to be sent to Guiness headmasters, since it was not possible to bring any Guiness inspector this time.
The Festival, which will last until Wednesday, April 15th, features concerts, conferences, videos and master classes, with the participation of artists from Brazil, Cuba, Chile, the United States, Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Peru.
It is held at the Spanish Cultural Centre located in Jr. Natalio Sánchez 181 - Plaza Washington.
