According to Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), 290 million soles (about 97 million dollars) will be invested in electrification works, which will benefit 280,000 people in twelve Peruvian regions.
According to Fernando Rossinelli, General director of Rural Electrification, this is part of Economic Stimulus Plan, and will include 9 projects in Huanuco Region (which will require an investment of 86 million soles) and 11 other projects worth 39 million soles.
There are 11 other projects (third group) under bidding process worth 93 million soles, and MEM will launch a tender offer for the fourth package of rural electrification works (worth 70 million soles) this year.
Works will benefit regions of Amazonas, Ancash, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huancavelica, Huanuco, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Junín, Pasco, Piura and San Martín.
