Peruvian Finance Minister Luis Carranza said Sunday that Peru will not face an economic recession, because the country expects high growth levels in the third and fourth quarters of 2009. # c. schmidt says :

That's a great link - thanks.
You know, if Garcia keeps making promises that will not be kept, that just causes problems. They should be more conservative in their estimates.

Louie needs to take a peek out the window. Peru's been in a recession for decades.

Was just thinking even so it fits only half in the topic - almost through al political parties they have some good people- in between of cause like always mister and missis evil speaking (arrogant , self performing, money driven, mortal ambitious).
But the good people -can they not push for more dialogue.
The other day when they were spoke about Bagua and all this I really got the impression that there were several good people telling things very quit like they are.
Why they cant go together, help , and make a healthy mix instead of allowing that country gets more divide.
among several others(so many names) I found quit reasonable and balanced mister Lescano, one young handless congressman from Unidad national, there were 2 nationalist congress woman who gave impression that they have good intensions for Peru, one of them this charismatic short hair lady elisabeth Leon? , another lady who spoke very quit and well based, Abugatas and Meckler seem to be prepared , mister waismann seems to be a good person and from the fujimoriestas there are also several good and moderate persons who seem to be driven by balancing and dialogue and not on the hate course.

Well, Garrett, if you're referring to LivingInPeru.com, this site is not a journalism site, per se. It's more like a blog.Add your comment
But I don't disagree with your assessment of the Peruvian media, who've shown the world that they're biased, controlled and manipulated.
And that's a pretty bold statement by the Finance Minister, of all people. I would feel more comfortable if he lays out a contingency plan to combat a potential recession that Peru could face, if it were to occur, not spew forecasts that could come back and bite him in the behind, given today's environment.
As for everyone's favorite, David N., maybe you should look out the window, step out on the stoop and take a few steps.
