Andahuaylas, in Apurimac region, remains isolated in the the 12th day of mobilization that keeps the
roads and the airport closed.
The serenade and other traditional festivities scheduled for the city's anniversary
have been suspended, due to the strike that the peasants are observing.
The landing strip at Jose Maria Arguedas airport (in Huancabamba) is still blocked with stones, and the protesters have also blocked access roads to Lima, Ayacucho and Cusco.
The only traffic on sight in the city are a few cars and mototaxis (local two-seats motorcycle taxi), and some people has started to leave, heading to nearby towns like Talavera and San Gerónimo.
Farmers' organizations and unions expect the to resume the talks with Yehude Simon, the Prime Minister, on June 23rd.
