Peru's Health Ministry
confirmed 100 new cases of AH1N1influenza (83 in Lima and 17 in El Callao), and pointed out at the fact that they all are Peruvians.
The new patients are at present under medical observation, home isolation, receiving antiviral treatment and recovering without complications.
With these cases, the total of confirmed cases in Peru reaches 460.
Peru's Health Ministry, in coordination with Education's Ministry, will reinforce the surveillance in schools, particularly in the risk group consisting of children under five years, so the schools' headmasters will receive information on preventive measures.
At present, 14 schools have reported AH1N1 cases.
Parents should not send their children to school if they are showing symptoms of flu; if they are already there, must pick them up inmediately.
Once at home, parents should call Infosalud Hotline 0800-108-28 or take the children to the nearest health facility.
If the cases continue spreading quickly,
classes might be suspended in all Peru's schools.
