The Huaca de la Luna, one of the major tourist attractions in La Libertad region, received a total of 42,780 visitors during the first half of the year, reported local sources.

According to the report issued by the Peruvian National Institute of Culture (INC), this means an increase of 4 percent compared to the same period last year.

"In recent years, major works have been completed in Huaca de la Luna, such as excavation and restoration activities of the main areas. This was important to increase the visits," said Enrique Sanchez Mara, INC's Regional Director.

The investments for these works have been made by private sector and international cooperation, noted Sanchez Mara.

Peru has a lot of old rocks put there by thilfy cholos that are now dead. That's about it. So what? Something for a tourists to stand in front of and take pictures.

The 'culture' (lol) is poverty, people riding in combis, buses having head on collisions, eating ceviche off a filthy sidewalk, urinating in the streets, washing clothes in the river, and dumping garbage into the sea.

This is the real 'culture' and 'legacy' of the Incas  so get over it.
