Peru's Cusco included among Top 20 international tourist destinations

Cusco, the Peruvian main touristic destination, was voted as the world's 16th most popular international destination, according to an online poll conducted by Travel+Leisure magazine.
Some cities like Barcelona, London and even Paris did not reach the list of 20 top cities.
However, the indian city Udiapur led this year's list, while 2008's winner Bangkok dropped to the third place, probably due to the problems they reportedly had last year with their airport.
The magazine, which conducted its poll between January-March 2009, is also running a rating of the world's best hotels, top islands and top large-ship cruise lines.
The winners wil be honored next week in a ceremony to be held in New York.

Good, but if Cusco continues the way it does now, then I fear the worst. Last time I was there, prices had gone up bigtimes, I was offered a massage every 20 metres and on the plaza I couldn't get any rest as I was constantly harrased by people trying to lure me into restaurants of sell me all sorts of things. 10 years ago I could walk around in peace, enjoying the ambience.Add your comment
