Colombian ambassador in Lima, Alvaro Pava, said that his country
regards Peru as its best ally in the region.
“Certainly I think there is no better ally for Colombia than Peru and I also believe that there is no better ally for Peru than Colombia. We have exceptional binational mechanisms which only reflect the good understanding between presidents Alan Garcia and Alvaro Uribe," he said.
The diplomat said that both governments have been collaborating on each other's work against drug trafficking, terrorism and common crime, and have also become important partners in economic investment.
"Peru-Colombia trade is close to 2 billion dollars annually”, he remarked.
