The Peruvian delegation that participated in the 50th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO 2009) held in Germany won four silver and two bronze medals after facing 104 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and America. # SA says :

Peru came in 24th in the world. The USA 7th.
There were no girls on the teams of the top 8 (the teams at the bottom had female members). I bring this up because in the US all you hear is how awesome women are in math. Girls you need to walk the talk.
