Two soldiers killed in an ambush in Huancavelica, Peru

According to La Republica, two soldiers were killed this morning in a terrorist ambush at San Antonio de Carrizales (Acobamba), in the Southern Andean Huancavelica region.

The attacked army patrol was part of the Huanta garrison stationed at Pampas-Tayacaja antiterrorist base, and was ambushed while it was moving along the area.

Peru's Defense Ministry has admitted that the troops in the area do not have  proper, reliable equipement.

The fallen soldiers were identified as Sgts. Saúl Félix Aguirre and  Ronald Alegría Pacheco.

Reportedly, according to the Ministry, four of the attackers died.

The term "narcoterrorist" is a vague and misleading label that is more of a political slight of hand than an objective reference.  Shining Path has almost always, since the beginning of its armed war against the state, relied on taxes on drug income.  But it has always been a political ideologically driven rebellion first and foremost, with drugs playing the part of suppporting their insurrection.  Calling a political group narcoterrorists therefore is a political slip of the tongue that puts them in the same category as say, a Kali cartel. If you read the analysis of credentialed investigators (sociologists and political scientists) you will see that the Shining Path is not even close to that kind of organization.  Placing them in that category is similar to the past policy that aims to obscure state violence (for ex of former US drug tzar's calling coca growers "narcofarmers" in the 90s). I'm not worried about the SP's rights so much as how, By calling citizens narcoterrorists, the state can kill off any other group or person with impunity, and still ensure it gets aid from the US (drug war support) to do so!  It also plays into a disturbing pattern of state violence that we saw in 1980-90.  I base my comments on ten years of research in the Ayacucho department. Does it matter what the terrorist are called, as long as they are terorist against the people of Peru?
The source of income is what supports the terrorist, as long as they are an organization, regardless of how sophisticated they are organized, or are not, as long as they are against the freedoms that Peruvians enjoy. Stop the source of income and you will go a long way towards ridding peru of its internal enemy. When you are fighting a forest fire, sometimes you have to set a backfire to counter and stop the main fire.

Look to the south, Bolivia and north to Venezuela, to see a population that went to sleep and awoke to a nightmare.

Terrorism incited BY those who cannot see people free and living good lives is a terrible thing for socialist facist mined hipocrites, who hide behind the freedoms that give them their life.

Fujimoro needs a second opportunity. For any faults he may have had, he did the number that needed to be done, when  it was time to do it.
Peru enjoys a great rebound because of the man that had the ability to crush the Shining Path and restore a belief in the government.

Outside forces that do not support Peru, as a soverign nation should remain quiet if they choose to live in the country, if not then they should move on, say maybe Venezuela. Enjoy the good life with Hugo and see if they enjoy the socialist marxist life style.

Alan Garcia was elected, although I did not personallly support him, he is El Presidente.
