Uruguay preparing FTA with Peru

Uruguay hopes to start the talks and negotiations for setting a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Peru in 2010, which would come into effect from 2011, said Uruguay's Minister of Planning and Budget, Martin Dibarboure.
"Both countries have been approaching recently, and we have already signed a memorandum of understanding to advance on this path towards a trade agreement," he said.
He also added that both nations would negotiate a bilateral FTA under the framework of the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), which would be an extension of the ECA No. 8, which was signed by the two countries in the 80's.
It is worth noting that Uruguay could not achieve the necessary parliamentary majority to sign an FTA with the US or any other countries.

This is excellent news Peru & Uruguay being trade partners.usa no longer owns Peru or South America. Peru & All South American Countries can now have all the Fair Trading Partners they want . Peru already has FTA with China, Russia, Brazil etc.Add your comment
