Today it was officially announced -in a press conference- the upcoming opening of the National Karate Championship, Young Senior Categories,
to be held at Iquitos City on October 31st and November 1st.
This tournament will gather up to 400 sportsman from all over Peru in the Young Senior Category, kata and kumite discipline. According to official the information, the championship is to be held at "Juan Pinasco Villanueva" Colissseum, which can accomodate.
Some of the participants will be Akio Tamashiro, Kata World runner-up; Oscar Sinchi, Kata Young World Champion; and Wendy Chac, Kumite Panamerican Young Champion.
Authorities present at the conference were Ricardo Duarte, National Director of Recreation and Sports Promotion; Yván Vásquez, President of the Regional Government of Loreto; and Mario Ríos, President of Iquitos Karate League.
