The long term solution to the hooligan problem is to force the team owners to pay for the incremental police protection needed before and after the games. Why should the Peruvian taxpayers (which by the way apparently does not include the football team ownership) foot the bill for the thousands of extra police required???Add your comment
And the government should also require a smart card for anyone entering the stadium. The card bearer / owner is initially vetted against a known database of criminals and hooligans. If they are on the list, no card and no entry to the stadium. In order to get into the stadium you are matched by a fingerprint or facial recognition algorithm to ensure you are the cardholder. It is being done elsewhere -- make the non-taxpaying team owners pay for this too!!
How long does Lima have to tolerate this non-sense??
