"Those are not Chilean citizens," claims Chile on the Peruvian official report

Chilean Foreign Affairs Minister Mariano Fernandez released his government's official government version on the document submitted by Peru claiming  espionage activities.

According to the Peruvian report, the names mentioned in the aforementioned document would correspond to members of the Chilean Armed Forces who would allegedly have financed the espionage operations.

However, Fernandez said that “these names do not correspond to any Chilean citizens, so we have nothing to comment on this matter."

He also remarked that the government will respond to the espionage charges, “in due time," and remarked that the document delivered by Peru has only 300 pages, and not 2,000 as the press had reported.

Note to Peru regarding spying scandal:  Give it a rest.  Like my momma told me when I was growing up.  Don't pick a fight unless you're pretty sure you're gonna win.  Chile vs. Peru is a slam dunk.  Only 20% of Peru's 315 tanks are functional.  I suspect Peru's fighter jets are in similar condition.
The ex minister of economy (Peru) is suggesting economic sanctions against Chile.  Whiskey Tango, Foxtrot, Over?????   Is he nuts????  A lot of macho chest beating with no ability to back it up.

This never should have been so public. Besides, I don't think anybody was thinking in starting a war, if that was the case we better give them our territory and become chileans, I would not mind, though. :) This old dispute we have with our neighbours of the south should end, it's already old.

well, more nonesense, i am pretty sure I can take you in a fight, so I will go ahead and spy on you and disrupt how you operate your house and family and you have no right to say anything about it since you will loose the fight.

Wow, interesting approach to life.

Mericorp, dont be so naive.  Spying goes on all the time.  Peru spies on its neighbors too.  You can bet on it,  Friends spy on friends.  Enemies spy on enemies.  Been going on as long as prositiution.  Wink
