Chile has not found yet to find any specific data that may confirm
the Peruvian complaint about alleged espionage actions on behalf of Santiago, said Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, while the diplomatic relations between the two neighbors are going through very tense moments.
According to Chilean newspaper El Mercurio (EMOL), Bachelet told the press that Chile is examining the background to the case.
"The truth is that, up to now, we don't have concrete results that may lead us to clear results, thus we are going to continue with further investigations," she said.
Chile, which at first denied the accusations and ruled out any possibility of an act of espionage, said it would start an investigation.
