Imports from China and India continue leading the total of textiles and garments entering Peru; imports from China represented 51% of the total imports during 2009, reported the National Society of Industries' Textiles Chapter (SNI).
Meanwhile, imports from India totaled 34%, followed by the ones from US, Taiwan, South Korea, and others, reported

According to statements issued by the importers, imports during 2009 reached US $ 708 million, from which US $ 450 million correspond to textiles, and US $ 257 to clothing and another confections.
Regarding exports, SNI reported that they dropped by 28%, from US $ 2 billion in 2008 to US $ 1,4 billion in 2009.
