Colombian energy firm ISA plans to invest US$1.8 billion in projects this year, especially in Peru and Brazil, ISA's General Manager Luis Fernando Alarcon said Monday.
The company also plans to buy 60 percent of Cintra Chile, company of transport infrastructure development and one of the leading dealerships in the country.
“We need to close the deal in the first quarter of 2010 and then control the company,” he said.
Alarcon emphasized the interest of ISA to participate in the call of Peru's Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion) for the project to strengthen the transmission line in southern Peru, which will demand significant investment.
He did not provide more details because they are still performing the preliminary studies, La Republica newspaper of Colombia reported.
Apart from its business in Brazil, Peru and Bolivia, ISA, which last September registered profits worth nearly US $157 million, also has presence in Central America and Ecuador.
