Peru is the third main recipient of foreign mining investments, says Minister Martin PerezPeru is currently the third main recipient of foreign investments in mining, said today Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Martín Pérez, reports RadioProgramas del Peru.

Perez, who is currently in Toronto attending an annual convention of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC), which is “an convention on investments,” because this is an event where “investors decide how much money they will invest in Peru, and in which mining projects are going to be developed in the next years.”

This meeting is the most important among Latin American countries, and reunites companies related to mining exploration and activities worldwide.

This is not something Peru should be proud of. If Peru requires foreign mining investments, it means Peru is unable to manageits mines alone. And if foreign companies invest in Peru mines, it means they will take the mines money, which means less money for Peru development.

China understood that what's important is not to have foreign investments but to learn foreign knowledge to become independent. When will Peru learn that ?
