Hospitals in Peru will resume free distribution of morning-after pills

Peru's Health Minister Oscar Ugarte announced that public hospitals will resume distributing the morning-after pill, since international research requested by his department concludes that the pill is not a method of abortion.

The World Health Organization reports that the morning-after pill does not have an abortive effect, Ugarte said.

The minister informed that he has signed a resolution to authorize the free distribution of this pill in all public health facilities nationwide. The resolution will come into effect on Wednesday, March 10.

Ugarte pointed out that last October's Constitutional Court suspension of free distribution of the pill included the Health Ministry's responsibility to prove the pill does not act as a method of abortion, and the World Health Organization's report fulfills the court-ordered obligation.

Interesting, so life begins at conception.  Wait till the "morning after", the new life that was conceived is killed and this is not an abortion?  I hope the Catholic church jumps all over this.  Might say that abortion is now legal in Peru.

I do not see how you feel you have the right to force a woman to breed myself.
