Terrorist's lawyer threatens magistrate


The magistrate of the Superior Penal Court for terrorism and human rights cases, Luz del Carmen Ibañez Carranza, denounced in a press conference that her life was threatened. The lawyer Manuel Fajardo, who represents Abimael Guzman, head of the terrorist group Shinning Path, told her at court that “this case is a matter of death between you and me”.

Magistrate Luz del Carmen Ibañez declared that she told the president of the Terrorism Court-Pablo Talavera- about the threats, but he did nothing about it. She added that she has been threatened since September last year both by telephone calls and through internet. There is a group called Red Path that insults her through internet. Therefore she has asked for guarantees.
