66% of Peruvians disagree with the signature of the FTA before the elections of April 9th


According to a poll made by the UNI (Universidad de Ingenieria) 59.9% of  the citizens disagree with government who wish to sign the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the US before July 28th, 66% mean that the next Congress should approve and sign the FTA.
Several political parties and associations as Confiep, Comex, Camara de Comercio de Lima mean that the FTA should be signed after the elections of April 9th, though during this government, which will finish on July 28th.
While farmers and several associations representing cooperatives organize a protest on March 29th and 30th in order not to sign the FTA with the US, in the other hand Luis Vega Monteferri president of ADEX (Association of Exporters of Peru) said that “We should not miss this opportunity because of political jealousy”.
