A spokesperson for ONPE (the Peruvian organization responsible for monitoring elections) indicated that they will have 100% of the votes counted and the results finalized, at the very latest, by the end of next week.
The spokesperson indicated that approximately 33% of the votes cast in foreign countries and a small percentage of votes cast in remote areas of Peru have yet to be counted. The spokesperson declined to comment on who would make it into the runoff with Ollanta Humala, Alan García or Lourdes Flores.
Once all the votes have been counted and it is determined who joins Humala in the second round the National Elections Board will set a date for the runoff.
