According to a recent poll released by Datum, conducted between April 29 and May 1, Alan García leads Ollanta Humala 56% to 44%. Based on prior polls it appears that the remarks made by Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez have aided García to gain a couple of percentage points.
Those polled also indicated that they do not perceive that Humala has any key strength as a candidate while García was identified as a candidate who expresses himself and his opinions well. When asked about the candidates weakness those polled said that Humala is violent and aggressive while 32% found fault with García’s previous term as president.
Poll Shows García in Front
