Peru will congratulate Hugo Chavez after all

(LIP-jl) – “Everyone should be congratulated for their victory,” expressed Alan Garcia, President of Peru, after Hugo Chavez was reelected as Venezuela’s president.

Garcia reaffirmed his non-offensive position regarding heads of state and their administrations.

According to Garcia, Peru should maintain both diplomatic relations and relations involving the general populations of both countries. He hopes bilateral relations between both countries will improve some day.

“I will leave it up to good will and God,” sustained Garcia.

Garcia’s stance contradicts statements made by Peruvian Foreign Minister Jose Antonio Garcia Belaúnde. Belaúnde previously announced that the Peruvian government would not congratulate Hugo Chavez on his victory simply because the Venezuelan president did not congratulate Garcia on his victory last June.

On the other hand, Chavez was well congratulated by his proclaimed mentor, Cuba’s Fidel Castro. Castro’s message was shown on the front page of the Granma, the official newspaper of Cuba’s communist party.

“Your victory was decisive, crushing, and without parallel in 'our American' history,” read part of the message.

According to the latest information, Chavez won with an astounding 62.57%, while his opponent, Manuel Rosales, governor of the oil rich state Zulia, obtained 37.18%.

It is bery sad that Alan Garcia is more friend of the American/Zionist Capitalism, and not try to create a single Latino America Front.

It's a very good thing for Peru to have free trade agreements with as many countries as it can. A well-known formula that worked and is still working with good results for Chile.

Strategic Free Trade Agreements will make Peru stronger and whenever Latin America is ready for a regional trade bloc, Peru will certainly be an important part of it.

On the other hand, I don't like Garcia's commentaries on Chavez's victory. The President of Peru represents a whole country, and should put aside personal feelings.

Marco, re-think your position on Capitalism. Did you not work in order to buy your computer so you could share your thoughts with everyone? Maybe if President Garcia were to follow the thoughts of Baby Huey, "chavez," then he could have taken the computer away from someone else, and rewarded you with their computer. If Capitalism is so bad a thing, ask yourself one question. What has been the most asked for currency in the world for the past 60 years" The American Dollar.

Juan,
Marco may be using the computer at his hippy commune, one that is powered by potatoes.
