(LIP-jl) -- According to the Association of Peruvian Exporters (ADEX in Spanish), the exportation rate of Peruvian grapes grew by 33% during the months of October-December 2006, representing a total of approximately US$29 million.
ADEX also reported that Peruvian grapes were exported to 31 countries. The United States was by far the largest importer representing 42% of Peru's grape exports.
The United kingdom received 17%, while Spain, Colombia, China, Venezuela, Indonesia, Taiwan, Russia, and Canada made up the difference.
The demand for Peruvian grapes has gone up dramatically around the world. Nowhere has this been more evident than in China where Peruvian grapes exports increased by 648%.
