Travel and Tourism | 13 February, 2007 [ 14:49 ]New 7 Wonders Foundation will hand out application certificate for Machu Picchu
(LIP-wb) -- Representatives of the New 7 Wonders Foundation will give Peruvian authorities the application certificate of the Inca citadel Machu Picchu for the contest "The New 7 Wonders of Modern World" at a visit scheduled between February 15th and 23rd.
The visitors plan to travel to Cusco in order to take pictures and film the Inca citadel from an aerostatic globe.
Meanwhile Machu Picchu was the most voted candidacy in Colombia, according to local newspaper El Tiempo. Of the 75,123 votes received, 7,936 (10.56%) were for Macchu Picchu, followed by the Great Wall of China, with 7,803 votes (10.39%), the Pyramids of Giza (Egypt), with 7,192 votes (9.57%) and the Taj Mahal (India) with 7,029 votos (9.36%).
